On Sunday, March 20, 2016, at M.J. O’Connor’s Irish Pub in the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel, more than two hundred Canadian fundraisers (doing their best to blend into an Irish Pub while wearing “red” at a St. Patty’s Day celebration!) assembled to meet and network with other conference attendees from across Canada. Special invited guests also included many friends from the U.S. and other countries that were attending the International Fundraising Conference.
Karen Mercier, chair of AFP's Canada Council, reflects on the importance of this event:
"The International Fundraising Conference presented by AFP is not only important for educational and professional development, but it also provides a critical opportunity for Canadian fundraisers from coast to coast to network and share ideas, strategies and developments in the sector. In a country that is so wonderfully diverse, being able to come together in one location provides us all with a unique moment to connect (both personally and professionally) and then return to our charities with new ideas and a renewed sense of commitment to improving communities across Canada.”
The success of the Red and White Reception would not have been possible without its generous partners. The AFP Canadian Council thanks the following companies and organizations for their sponsorship of the event:
