Nominations are rolling in for the 2014 Spirit of Philanthropy Awards!
 

Why not honor that special person who has helped your organization this year by nominating him/her? The award was created in 1991 to provide charitable organizations the opportunity to honor someone within or close to their organization who truly exemplifies the “spirit of philanthropy.” 

The AFP Philanthropy Leadership Awards Dinner is Thursday, November 13, 2014.  The annual awards ceremony and event serve to recognize and celebrate Arizona’s finest fundraisers, volunteers, philanthropists, corporations, and media who serve our community through their dedication of resources, time and generosity.

Spirit of Philanthropy submissions are due by Friday, August 15, 2014.

About the Foundation Aunt Rita’s Foundation is a small foundation with big dreams. The dream is to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic here in Arizona. The foundation raises money for 16 AIDS Service Organizations in Phoenix and the surrounding Valley and works to raise overall awareness and educate the public about HIV/AIDS. The foundation embraces and values accountability, integrity, inclusiveness, diversity, collaboration, and passion. Organizational Structure The organizational structure is straight forward. The Director of Development and the Director of Events report directly to the Executive Director. The Events Coordinator reports to the Director of Events. The two Directors must work closely in a collaborative environment to achieve the goals of the foundation. Job Description The Director of Development’s primary duty is to identify, develop, and lead Aunt Rita’s Foundation’s development programs. This position is responsible for developing and expanding current fundraising strategies to support current event-based fundraising and to develop strategies to support Aunt Rita’s Foundation’s education and awareness program. This position requires an ability to build strong relationships with donors, sponsors, Board of Directors, and colleagues. Jul 23 - Regional Chief Development Officer
The Regional Chief Development Officer will grow the donor base and the development program to meet assigned financial goals. They will support the Regional Chief Executive who is the chief fundraiser for the region and drive a strong revenue-oriented culture based on market-driven targets. The will lead a development team in planning, managing and implementing fund development strategies for the Region and maintain their own portfolio of assigned major donors and prospects, and personally makes solicitations. The will function in a highly visible, externally facing role and will represent the Region in cultivating donors with the greatest capacity and managing leadership volunteers. Jul 23 - Development Manager
Reporting to the Scottsdale Cultural Council (SCC) Vice President of Development, the Development Manager supports the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art and Scottsdale Center for the Performing Art in implementing comprehensive and integrated fundraising programs to develop individual and corporate contributed income sources for the Center and Museum, with an emphasis on donor cultivation, soliciting major gifts to support performances, endowments, education programs, annual fund, and planned giving. In addition this position supports development with special event activities with attention to high quality customer service. The Development Manager will assist in stewardship and acquisition of all individual, corporate, foundation and government donors for contributed revenue and planned giving. • Research, identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors for sponsorships, annual and planned giving. • Responsible for client stewardship and developing long-term relationships with individual and corporate funders and prospects with integrity and professionalism. • Creates and maintains a comprehensive strategy for satisfying the philanthropic and promotional objectives of existing and prospective funders. • Meets with existing and prospective funders to secure immediate and future contributions and to cross-sell the broad range of Center and Museum programs. • Writes sponsorship proposals and grants and creates effective collateral material for promoting the programs. • Responsible for sponsorship fulfillment including: pre-event coordination; ensuring contract compliance; post-event follow-up and reporting. • Updates and maintains sponsorship and grant data in the Tessitura database. • Prepares regular reports analyzing sponsorship and grant accomplishments and completes weekly reports. • Assists with the implementation of special events and other development initiatives. • Recommends and develops donor cultivation strategies with the SCC Vice Pre ... more >

The University of Arizona, the state of Arizona’s land-grant university, seeks to hire an ambitious, creative, and experienced development professional with a national vision for fundraising on LGBTQ issues, as part of the university’s $1.5 billion Arizona NOW capital campaign.
